Digging sand is a simple DonutSMP starter method that scales surprisingly well. Deep desert dunes are solid sand, so tunnelling through them with an Efficiency V shovel is far faster than digging the surface. Sand moves in bulk because glass and concrete crafting eat it constantly. Bring shulkers, fill them, and list in stacks. Sandstone under the sand sells as a separate item on the same trip.

How to do it
What you need
- Efficiency V shovel
- Shulkers for hauling
- Head to a desert and dig straight down into the dunes rather than skimming the surface.
- Tunnel through solid sand with an Efficiency V shovel.
- Fill shulkers and list on /ah in stacks, or sell to the buy order.
- Sell the sandstone you hit underneath separately.
