Silk-touch ore mining

Silk touch ore mining flips the usual diamond method on its head. Instead of breaking ore for drops, mine the ore blocks whole with Silk Touch and sell the blocks. On DonutSMP deepslate diamond ore has a real buy order and heavy auction house volume, and it often clears more per block than the diamond inside it. Lapis, redstone, emerald, gold and iron ore blocks list on /ah well above their smelted value too. The rate shown in the terminal is diamond ore blocks per hour.

How to do it

What you need
  • Silk Touch pickaxe
  • Torches
  • Food
  1. Strip mine at Y -58 with a Silk Touch pickaxe.
  2. Mine ore blocks whole instead of breaking them for drops.
  3. Sell deepslate diamond ore to the buy order or /ah.
  4. List lapis, redstone, emerald, gold and iron ore blocks on /ah, they sell above their smelted value.
