Mining soul soil is one of the easiest nether gathering methods on DonutSMP. Soul sand valleys are almost entirely soul soil and soul sand, and an Efficiency V shovel breaks soul soil instantly without the slowdown soul sand causes. There is a standing buy order for fast coins, and auction house listings pay far more per block. Soul sand from the same valley feeds the nether star method.

- Fire Resistance potions
- Shulkers for hauling
- Find a soul sand valley in the nether.
- Break soul soil with an Efficiency V shovel, it drops instantly and does not slow you.
- Sell to the buy order for quick coins or list stacks on /ah for more per block.
- Collect soul sand from the same valley for the wither method.
